Recent great reads!

Hello you guys!

So I have been reading quite a bit lately, and I thought I'd share my favorites with you all!

See how I pointedly ignored the fact that I haven't posted in months? Yeah, I'm sneaky like that!

Back to the books, for those who have just arrived here on the blog (Welcome by the way!) I looooove Dystopian YA litterature. Like, LOVE it. Therefore, it's mostly what I read, here goes the goodies!

Korean Dramas for Addicts, the Sequel!

Hello people!

I am back! With a new laptop (Thanks to my husband!) and I would like to introduce you to the most recent K Dramas that I have been loving!

Some of these are exclusive to Dramafever, so make sure you check them out there, you can watch for free with ads or get a premium account. I pay $1.99 USD /month for mine, check the promos!

By now you are probably completely addicted anyway after reading my previous blog posts (and if you haven't, click on the links below to do so!)

Korean Dramas for Newbies
Korean Dramas for Not-So-Newbies
Korean Dramas for Addicts

Without any more delay:

1. Let's Fight Ghost!

Starring Ok Taecyeon (Dream High) and Kim So Hyun (School 2015) this drama is hilarious so far!

Also slightly creepy sometimes, some of the ghosts are ugly AF... New episodes come on Monday and Tuesday nights and right now we're at episode 6.

I believe I have read somewhere that it's a manga adaptation, if you know more about it, tell me in the comments, I'd like to read it!

The story is about Park Bong Pal, a college student who can see (and beat up) ghosts. He meets Kim Hyun Ji, the ghost of a High schooler who can't cross over as she doesn't remember anything from her life. They become unlikely partners in helping ghosts cross over...

You absolutely have to watch it, it's amazing!

2. Uncontrollably Fond

Starring Kim Woo Bin (The Heirs) and Bae Suzy (Dream High) this is an adorable drama about two old friends/lovers/enemy who find each other again years later.

Now this drama is slightly confusing as they are constantly going back in time in flashbacks but it's amazing! It's still on going and new episodes are coming on Wednesday and Thursday nights. As of now, there are 8 episodes out.

Now, I hope this drama won't get too typical, but so far I'm loving it!

3. Doctor Crush

Starring Park Shin Hye (The Heirs) and Kim Rae Won (A Thousand Days Promise) this drama depicts the most hardcore badass Doctor ever!

Park Shin Hye is finally something else than a crying poor girl in this drama and I love it!

She is amazing as she portrays Hye Jung, a Doctor who had such a hard life that she completely shut off her emotions (except anger....)

This drama is still on going and I sure hope it's going to stay as good! Episodes are coming on Monday and Tuesday nights and we are currently at episode 12!

The Thieves

One of my favorite movies of all time! An amazing thief movie starring Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun (My Love from Another Star) and a legit kebab of amazing actors, both Korean and Chinese.

Basically the story of two teams of professional thieves and cons, from Korea and China, who team up to steal something big from Wei Hong, one of China's biggest art fence.

As always when dealing with thieves, you should have a plan B, plan C... All the way through Z!

Give this movie a try, you won't regret it!

Well, that's all I've been watching recently!

As always, please leave any suggestion in the comments below and I shall see you next time!

Purple hair makeover + Aussie 3 minutes miracle review!

Ok I'll stop... Sooo I got my hair done. If you follow me on social media AKA Instagram and Snapchat you already know that my hair is now bright purple!

And I mean, it's BRIGHT! Like, might burn your retinas bright. I love it. It was done by Chris Carr at the Fredericton HeadShoppe, you can check out his Facebook page HERE

So without further delay, here are pictures of said purple hair!

A little before/after action here, taken by Chris! As you can see, my hair was already bleached... twice. Still, we had to bleach again. Only this time, my fabulous hair stylist used Olaplex (and therefore didn't burn my whole scalp...).

That shit is genius! It basically works in two steps. The first one is mixed in with the bleach and then the second one is used as a conditioner afterwards. End game is that your hair feels completely normal, not dry and hay-like.

To break down the process, my stylist bleached my roots first, then applied the bleach to the rest of my head since it didn't need to be lightened as much. Then he rinsed, did a toner and did a protein treatment so my hair would feel nice instead of fried.

Fast foward to color and rinse and Olaplex. Tadaa bright purple hair! The whole process took about 5:30 hours. Now I would like to stress here that my hair was already pretty pale. If you are darker, you would need more than one session to get to that color safely.

Now that I have awesome magical unicorn hair, Im going to need to deeeeeep condition it.

Strolling into Shoppers, as one does, I take the direction of the hair stuff aisle.

There it is, as purple as my hair, a deep conditioner that works in 3 minutes!
Not only that, but it's $2.99... Let me just make that clear, IT WAS $2.99!!! Fair enough it was on sale, but the regular price is still under $5!

Take a look at this beauty

There it is The Aussie 3 Minutes Miracle Moist

(Yes, I did go in the backyard and took 40 pictures in every tree we have...)

Now, I am sorry for any hair stylist friends who might be reading this... Very sorry. I do realise that this might contain cheap ingredients of some sort... But it works better than any high end product I ever tried!

So there you go, $2.99 sorcery that treats my fried hair very nicely. Making it smooth and shiny. In 3 minutes. For $2.99.

Here is my big satisfied face for your eyes only, enjoy!

I also feel like I should mention that this post is not sponsored in any way. I bought the product with my own money and shit...

Until next time!

Better than take out noodles!

Hello delightful people who read this shabby blog!

Two days ago, I came back home from work hungry, tired and did I mention HUNGRY?

I needed something that could be ready in under 15 minutes so I wouldn't cave in and order some take out.

I mindlessly took out some pre-cooked chicken breasts from the freezer, threw them in the microwave. Now what? Well a few ingredients later, and about 12 minutes, I had myself these ''better than take out noodles''!

Alright so, while my chicken was re-heating (and becoming a little dry might I add) I pulled out some Bok Choy from the fridge, some green onions from my window still (I'm regrowing them after cutting them, it's a revelation). There, proteins and veggies, check.

Cooking rice was wayyyy too long for my hungry stomach, but lucky me had somen noodles in the pantry. A little boiling water and those noodles were ready in under 5 minutes. Genius, I'm telling you!

So by then I had all it took to make dinner, but how to season it? Peanut sauce? Oyster sauce? So many options... That's when I remembered that my Dad (bless him) got me a box of asian spices mix for Christmas.

They're from the company ''Epicure'', as I understand it, they specialize in spice mixes and cooking stuff. Anyway, you can order that stuff online, and you should because it's da bomb man!

I used the vinaigrette mix from the ''Good Asian Real Fast'' kit. It has sesame, ginger and, I'm assuming, magic and unicorn tears. It's THAT good!

So I dumped a ton of those spices into my noddles, added a little chicken stock and bam! Done!

All under 15 minutes, watch in hand. I'm not saying that I could beat Jamie Oliver at his own game but you know... close enough...

Here's the full recipe:

Better than take out noodles (serves 2 who eat a lot)

- Somen noodles (About a 1/3 of a package, or you know... a big handful?)
- 2 Chicken breasts, pre-cooked, or not...
- 4 bok choy, chopped.
- 3 green onions, also chopped.
- Sesame-Ginger Epicure mix, as much as you can!
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
- 1 tsp of sesame oil
- 1 tblsp of canola oil

How to:

1. Cook or re-heat your chicken
2. Cook the somen noodles (3 to 5 minutes)
3. Chop the veggies and chicken
4. Throw the veggies in a little sesame oil and a little canola oil, sautee until half cooked.
5. Add in the chicken and lots of the spice mix.
6. Add the chicken broth and the noodles.
7. Stir until all mixed up and warm
8. Eat all the noodles!

So here you go, fastest and tastiest noodles in town!

Here is the link for the spice mix, if you so happen to want it:

There you go, that's it for today,

Happy Cinqo de Mayo to everybody, celebrate in respect of mexican culture like good humans!

Also, you should follow me on snapchat, I plan another hair transformation next week and I'm gonna snapchat the crap out of it!

Alright, until next time!

How to survive on very little sleep!

Hello peeps!

I know this is a little different than what I usually write about, but recently, a lot of people I talk to mention the lack of sleep.

Now, as most of you know, I was a member of the Canadian Forces before and most of my tips I got there. Mind you, I was only a reservist, so my basic was not nearly as hard as a reg force one, but, we still had very little sleeping time...

Ok, here goes!

1. Drink water

Right when you get up and feel gross because you only slept 4 hours. Large drink of COLD water. It wakes up your body and get your brain started. It's very temping to go straight for coffee, but hey, drink that water while your coffee is getting ready, you know you're just helplessly staring at your machine anyway.

2. Exercice

Now, I'm not an athlete, faaaaar from that, but a little stretch, a walk, a Jillian Michaels DVD... goes a long way to wake you up. On basic, we had PT first thing in the morning, and as much as I hated it, it did help us get through the day. You can just dance while singing into your hairbrush, putting on a show for the dogs and the cat... What? Me? No, What?

3. Food

You already know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, blah blah blah... If you hate breakfast, try to get a little something that's rich in nutrients. Chocolate milk, a banana, the very hipster avocado toast that everyone loves... Anything as long as it contains at least a little nutrients, so put down the Pop Tarts and the Fruit Loops!

4. Either take your time, or rush!

No in-between. Either you wake up with enough time to go through your routine smoothly, read the paper while having breakfast, doing your yoga and stuff. Orrrrr wake up with just enough time to brush your hair, get a muffin and leave. Bottom line is, wake up at the time you planned, No snoozing. It messes you up and messes up your schedule, if you screw up your schedule first thing in the morning, you'll probably screw it up for the rest of the day.

5. Caffeine

Coffee, tea, energy drink (what? No judging!), get  your caffeine fix once you are woken up. Maybe on your commute, before you leave, once you're at the office... Just don't start with it. It doesn't usually help with dehydration and it also doesn't help you feel hungry. Water first, then food, then caffeine!

6. Don't sleep for too long

Figure out your sleep pattern, sometimes you feel just as tired because you slept too much (yes, I'm looking at you sunday morning...) You want to wake up at the ends of a sleep cycle ideally. There are a bunch of apps that can help you figure out your ultimate sleeping time, but it's gonna be mostly trials and errors. I know that mine is 6.5-7 hours. Figure out yours!

Alright, I'll let you go get some of that water now ;)

Until next time!

Bioré Bakin Soda Cleansing Scrub Review!

I am not dead! You can rejoice!

Couldn't post earlier, a giant snake was in the pipes and I had to go down in the basement to kill it with a sword I got in a hat...

What do you mean you're not buying it?

I was watching Harry Potter a lot and I was busy at work? Yeah...

Now that I am thoroughly ashamed (sort of) we can get to the point of this post!

Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub

Now, first of all, I have to say that I got those products for free via Influenser for testing purpose. That being said, all opinions are my own.

Since, there are two products, I will review them separately.

Baking Soda Pore Cleanser

I really like this product, it cleanse your face without being irritating because of the stupid tiny beads that are usually in pore cleansers.

I hate scrubs with too many or too big beads in them, I have sensitive skin and it can be very irritating. This cleanser does have beads but very few of them.

It also doesn't leave your skin squeeky clean, you know the feeling, like you stripped your skin out of everything? Well I don't like it, so I like this product.

So yeah, there's a fair chance that I will buy this product again.

It retails for less than $10 so that's a big plus in my book!

Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub

While this product is effective, I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of the fact that you have to mix it yourself.

It's an interesting idea, but it's kind of messy... You have to pump the powder out and then mix water to make a paste, it's a bit of a hassle.

That being said, the product works really well, it's effective and get's your skin uber clean.

I probably won't be buying it in the future, but I would be interested in buying a pre-mixed version of it.

So there you go, I should post again soon... probably.... STOP JUDGING ME!!!!

Stay crispy

Korean Dramas for Addicts!

That's it,

You've been converted.

Now that you are completely addicted to korean dramas (from reading my articles ''Korean Dramas for Newbies'' and ''Korean Dramas for Not-So Newbies'') here are some more good dramas to get your fix.

1. Moorim school

A special school that teaches martial arts and where some of the students may or may not have ''superpowers''?

There are only 3 episodes out so far and I'm already hooked!

Plus, it features Lee Hyun-Woo, and I fell in love with him watching ''The Technicians''!

2. Orange Marmalade

Best of both worlds! High School drama AND vampire drama!

Vampires are coexisting with humans, it's going fine as they are being regulated by the VCS (vampire control service) and only drinking substitute blood. But high school is never easy, much less for a vampire...

Now, this drama almost lost me i the middle, but I'm glad I decided to stick it out, because it's amazing! Also the OST is pretty good, so that's a plus in my book!

3. She was Pretty

This is the drama that I'm currently watching and I have my little sister to thank for it. She kept badgering me to watch it and I finally caved in. Boy am I glad I did!

This is hillarious! A girl that used to be very pretty grows up ugly (TBH I think she's still super pretty but oh well...). One day, she is contacted by her first love, a chubby boy she was best friends with when they were kids. Turns out, the guy is a hottie now!

I won't tell you more, so watch it! My sister was right, this is awesome!

** By the way I spoiled myself a bit while looking for a gif to put here... Don't I love you so? I hate myself...

4. School 2015

What could have been a boring high school drama is brought up to the next level by a crazy twist!

It's not really a spoiler but twins live completely different lives after being adopted by very different people. After an accident, there is a mishap and they get switched!

So yeah, watch it, I don't want to spoil you too much!

5. Producer

The entertainment buisness is pretty serious in South-Korea, so you can count yourself lucky if you get hired by a big TV station... Or can you?

From difficult stars to intense bosses working at KBS may not be so easy!

Featuring the delightful IU and the awesome Kim Soo Hyun, it's a really good and cute drama!

Special mention for two great movies that I saw recently!

1. Twenty

Being 20 is not so easy apparently, it comes with a whole load of issues... Watch as three friends try (and fail) to get their lives together in their twenties!

2. The Technicians

Expert thieves are not to be joked with... And if you make a deal or a partnership with them, you better have a good plan if you don't want to regret your choice.

So there you go!

As usual, every drama and movie mentionned you can watch on Dramafever (

I hope it gave you ideas to be as antisocial as necessary to watch them all!

Until next time,
